You could always try to get hold of some Sandiline hikers. Not sure how easy that would be though being in ireland.

Haven't used them myself but I'm hopefully getting a pair for the winter. I'm currently using a pair of magic marine (airprene) half lengths which are faring pretty well.

I have a Zhik full length, superwarm. Wear them with a rashie and a titanium top...keeps even the icey cold of Inland sailing at bay all winter. Cost an arm and a leg but fantastic bit of kit and extremely durable.
