reason for the carbon tillers is so you can have the traveller as tight as possible to the deck, when your maisheet block to block going up wind it gives you the advantage of having a tighter, and point higher,

the carbon tiller can be made flat so you can keep the bridle tight and the blocks can get across the boat more easily - one less thing to slow you down. Is it worth the money? When it's annoying you enough it probably is.
