The Ranking system was developed in the context of full rigs for selection for ISAF events - see paragraph 1. Applying this to intermediate classes doesn't make sense particularly where a 4.7 sailor has just moved up to Radial. The same criteria used in other classes should apply i.e. an event should be selected to determine the squad either the top finishers in the Munsters or the Youth Nationals or a combination of both should be used. This would be fair, open and transparent to all participants as a 4.7 sailor moving to Radials has no intermediate ranking i.e. a rolling ranking system doesn't apply. It would clearly be a ridiculous situation if a new radial sailor ex 4.7's finished in the top 4 and wasn't elibible for nomination.
