Anyone else think that eur140 is a bit pricey for entry for the nationals. I'm guessing this won't include any meals etc. as laser events don't usually but assuming we get over 100boats(which we will) then the club will make over 14,000. Entry from 20 boats alone would be enough to cover petrol and prize costs...where's the rest going? As a college student its very off-putting. Fenit trying to make a sneaky profit I reckon.

There are a lot more things than just petrol and prizes to be paid for, insurance, catering etc.... but yeah - why do you think they go out of their way to run it? To make money!

Most clubs would expect to make money from the bar by hosting an event. Laser events arn't exactly renowned for their late nites!

The pre entry fee is 120 euro - the same as last year. We have set it to break even at 100 boats. If the club makes a small profit then so much the better

its the same amount as any other event really, its about €50 for a 2 day event and its only €120 for a 4 day event. Its good for the clubs to make a profit though otherwise we'd be part of a dying sport instead of a growing sport

Any Intwernational event including the UK NATIONALS cost a lot more. There is no profit in this for the club as it is offset by the club members who volunteer to help for the event. The pre planning and preparation and time involved should also be taken into account - hidden cost here. These events just don't happen. Looking forward to an enjoyable 4 days sailing in good conmditions and facilities.Well done TBSC for taking this on.
