This one could go on and on. We moved from gunnell hung trailers to box ones because of the damage caused to the gunnells by bouncing boats along irish roads. The brownlow box trailer is definately the best except if you put 2 boats on their stacker. The barings are not up to 2 boats and a box full of wet gear. I have spent many a happy hour on the side of the road beatin' the tripe out of barings to get home on a sunday nite after an event. So get a brownlow trailer and get spare barings as part of the deal.

Totally agree with matt, brownlow trailors are the proper job. The box is very handy but to much of a load isnt good. Changing bearings at 2 o'clock in the morning, pitch black ,on a duel carrigeway in rain, 15 miles from holyhead with time ticking away is and experince. Roll on speed trials for maclaren mercedes pit crew...

We use a trident double trailer. Holds 2 lasers , covered box for the gear, has a spare wheel. Cost £900 incl spar holders. The box has wooded side panels and a steel frame. I would suggest storing in a garage over the winter. The double frame for the lasers can be detached and stored separately, you can even put the lasers on the frame. John

I did 350.00 euro worth of damage to Laser coming back from Fenit because I used wrong trailer.Sure West-Mersea is cheaper and of lighter construction - but if you intend to pound the roads of Southern Ireland with your boat for the next 10 - 20 years there is simply no substitute for experiance and knowledge of our driving enviornment.

you could use a single trailer and use it to take 2 boats? if loaded one as normal and turned the other upsdie down, then the trailer would be able to take both boats?

Try Mersea trailers in the UK - Just as good as the Brownlow, a lot lighter and a lot cheaper
