After sailing lasers in the uk for years, Datchet is the best in London, but if you want the best then Hayling Island/Stokes Bay are the best areas for wind, tide and waves.

Ive sailed a bit in london. queen mary and datchet are good. queen mary is closer to the city and easier to get to. they have some quality laser sailors there. i saw a lot of laser sailing going on on sunday mornings. first gun 10:30, off the water for 13:30. nice and tidy. gives you plenty of time to get back home afterwards.

Datchet is a man made reservoir near london. it gets good wind with no obstacles in they but has no tides/currents. It does have a competitive laser fleet though

Hi, Datchet used to have a good fleet but most moved to Queen Mary last year so that is currently the resevoir to go for (seems to chnage every few years). Much better is to go for Stokes bay - nice guys, very high standard to learn from and great waves and wind. Only downside is it is about 1.5 hours from London.

Another factor that you will need to consider is the sheer size of london! If you live west or south, then Datachet but if you leave east or north you might want to consider King George V Sailing Club. I sail there at the moment.
